The Story Behind the Name
Charles "Charlie" Storms was a well-known gambler and gunfighter in the frontier West. He arrived in Tombstone during the silver boom and was a regular at the gambling halls on Allen Street. On February 25, 1881, Storms got into a fatal altercation with fellow gambler Luke Short outside the Oriental Saloon. Bat Masterson, who tried to intervene, later wrote about the incident in his famous series of articles about the Wild West.
